This show recounts the story of young performer Suzanne de Baecque’s experience in the backstage of the election of Miss Poitou-Charentes.

In 2020, an immersion assignment for her theatre course prompted Suzanne de Baecque to enter the Miss Poitou-Charentes competition. The adventure would not be without consequences. On the one hand, it held a mirror to this future actor: to her narcissism, to her relationship with her own body, and to all the things that drew her to theatre itself. On the other, it lead Suzanne to meet her competitors, talk to them, observe them, record them. She quickly realised that what she had in hand was an astonishing account of a new generation of women who are not really feminist. Born from this real experience, Tenir debout is transposed into fiction through the characters of Lauraline (Suzanne de Baecque) and Chloé (Raphaëlle Rousseau), but the words remain true. They speak of sexuality, mothers, diets, beauty, frustration, and finally the weight of a gaze that judges and alienates. How can we finally free ourselves from it?

Suzanne de Baecque is a graduate of the École du Nord in Lille and this is her first show. In it she also directs Raphaëlle Rousseau, a young actress from the 10th class of the TNB Drama School (2018-2021
