Nocturne (Parade) invite le public à s’enfoncer dans un monde souterrain où se déroule le combat vers la liberté. Ici, le vent discipline les danses, contredit les mouvements impossibles d’une ménagerie gigantesque de marionnettes de plastique, dont la grâce nous rappelle le désir d’échapper à la gravité. Phia Ménard offre ainsi les conditions parfaites pour accéder à l’espace des songes et de l’imagination, percevoir la naissance du mouvement des créatures, ressentir avant de voir, imaginer l’histoire avant de la comprendre.

Nocturne (Parade) immerses us in darkness. Spectres appear, animated by wind–seductive monsters engaged in an absurd dance as they struggle against a night that must come to an end. A show imagined as a journey through darkness towards the light of day. 

Nocturne (Parade) invites the audience to enter a subterranean world where a struggle for freedom is taking place. Here, it is wind that shapes the dance, controlling the impossible movements of a gigantic menagerie of plastic puppets whose grace echoes their desire to escape gravity. Here, Phia Ménard provides us the perfect setting to enter a space of dreams and imagination. We watch the birth of these creatures and their movement, sense before seeing, imagine a story before it is known. 

With this fairground circus, suspended somewhere between the world of Lewis Carroll, the story of the Erl-King, and the universe of Tadeusz Kantor, the performer and TNB associate artist continues her cycle of Pièces du Vent, the first four parts of which (L'après-midi d'un foehn Version 1, L'après-midi d'un foehn, VORTEX, and Les Os Noirs) were presented at TNB. The cycle itself is part of a long-running research into the transformations of natural elements and the ways they affect human behaviour.
