As part of Waterproof, dive into the dance!
In an isolated village where wine flows in rivers, strange rituals take place. Where secrets and unspoken words reign. Twins separated at birth unknowingly fall in love with each other. Their forbidden passion disturbs the balance.
Red dominates the stage, like blood that irrigates the scene or an alcohol that stuns the senses. Enchantment, melancholy, the duo Lady & Bird, formed by Keren Ann Zeidel and Barði Jóhannsson, composed in complicity with Sjón (poet, novelist and Icelandic lyricist of Björk), Red Waters. A pop opera and gothic tale that imagines a story between norm and transgression, whisper and exuberance.
BIOGRAPHY | Red Waters brings together an international artistic team: Arthur Nauzyciel as director, Damien Jalet as choreographer, Riccardo Hernández as set designer, Scott Zielinski as lighting designer, Gaspard Yurkievich as costume designer, Nicolas Agullo as conductor and Marie Darrieussecq as French librettist. After a first version created in 2011, the Rennes Opera and the TNB are reviving this show with a new vocal, musical and choreographic cast.
