A marital improvisation, an amorous joust, this performance invites the audience to a wedding complete with cakes, toasts and champagne bubbles.

At the centre of the party are Florence and Moustafa. It’s their wedding day, they love each other, but this happy couple is anything but ordinary. A little worse for wear but very forthcoming, they love to talk – and their words transform them by turns into storytellers, singers, magicians, princesses, genies, vizirs. Guillaume Vincent has conceived this new work as an echo of his previous piece Les Mille et Une Nuits. Vincent is an artist who loves to bring an unreality to his theatre –
to introduce the night, dreams, ghosts – yet he is also a director who marshals the machinery of the stage with the precision of a watchmaker. Following presentations at TNB, Florence & Moustafa will head out on a tour of the region’s schools, health facilities, and prisons, bringing them this passionate story that reminds us that the imagination is without limit.

The director Guillaume Vincent is an associate artist at TNB, where he has presented Rendez-vous gare de l’Est, Songes et Métamorphoses (based on Shakespeare’s work), Love Me Tender, and various other special encounters with the actor Émilie Incerti Formentini. His performance Les Mille et Une Nuits (2019) was rehearsed and presented at TNB last season.
