Dans un solo aux frontières du théâtre, du clown et de la performance, Blanche Ripoche campe une jeune fille, Coraline, étrange, malhabile et attachante, qui cherche désespérément à être comme tout le monde. 

Comment, quand on est irréductiblement hors-normes, trouver sa place dans une société qui se révèle bien étriquée et directive ? C’est la question qui agite Coraline, spectacle drôle et rêveur où une jeune fille se confronte aux codes et conventions, à défaut de pouvoir s’y conformer tout à fait. 

En s’emparant d’une figure clownesque, Blanche Ripoche, autrice et comédienne, esquisse un mode d’emploi joyeux de la transgression, un éloge des mauvaises herbes. Car malgré ses efforts, Coraline déborde toujours du cadre, et déplie sous nos yeux un monde où s’empilent salades, bulletins météo et linge sale, peut-être plus chaotique mais sans doute plus enviable que le nôtre. 

In this solo at the crossroads of theatre, clowning and performance, Blanche Ripoche plays the young girl Coraline– strange, awkward, endearing, desperately trying to be like everyone else. 

When you’re undeniably outside the norm, how do you find your place in a society that can be overly structured and confining? This is the question at the centre of Coraline, a funny, dreamy show in which a young girl confronts the codes and conventions to which she can never quite conform. Embracing a clownish persona, artist and actor Blanche Ripoche sketches out a joyous instruction manual of transgression, an ode to the outsider. For, despite her best efforts, Coraline always tumbles outside the lines, unfolding before our eyes a world piled high with mix-ups, weather reports, and dirty laundry, perhaps more chaotic but undoubtedly more appealing than our own. 

With this first solo show, Blanche Ripoche continues work she began with 52 Hertz, a Rennes company associated with the Théâtre de Poche and their play Sirènes, presented at the Festival TNB in 2022.
