Allongés dans de petits lits, comme au cœur d’un dortoir, les enfants se glissent dans la peau du héros guidés par la voix du narrateur. Le ton est donné : celui d’une veillée d’avant sommeil, un temps qui flotte, suspendu au bord du rêve. Soudain, un fleuve sonore envahit le récit : parois qui craquent, froissements, pas, souffles, grondements... L’ogre se rapprocherait-il pour réclamer sa chair fraîche ? C’est le tour de force du spectacle : l’image ne naît pas de ce qu’on voit, mais de ce qu’on imagine. Et de cette écoute partagée naît une expérience intime qui crée du collectif avec une intensité rare.

An undisputed success since its creation in 1995, this reimagining of Le Petit Poucet transports us to a place where humanity, the animal world and the fantastical combine. A place where listening becomes a sensory explosion.

Everything seems so comforting. We have come to listen to Le Petit Poucet, narrated by a storyteller seated beneath a crackling lightbulb. The atmosphere is set: that of the minutes before bedtime, in a moment that hovers, suspended on the edge of a dream. Suddenly, a river of sound floods the narrative: creaking walls, rustling, footsteps, breaths, rumbling… Is it the ogre drawing nearer to claim his next meal? This is the show’s masterstroke: the image does not arise from what we see, but from what we create within ourselves. And from this shared listening arises an intimate experience that recreates a sense of community with rare intensity.
