Au milieu de blocs de béton, vestiges ou chantier d’un projet à venir, Luis et Jules Sagot s’affrontent, se provoquent, s’aiment. Jules, fils biologique du couple ayant adopté Luis, veut raconter leur histoire, parler des douleurs passées. Originaire du Mexique, Luis, au parcours de vie chaotique et complexe, désire une représentation solaire, avec douceur et humour. À l’inverse de son frère et son art dramatique, il dé-dramatise. Renomme sa « reconnaissance de handicap » en « reconnaissance d’hélicoptère » et s’envole loin de la place anxiogène que lui assigne la société. Comment raconter l’autre sans le trahir ? Un dialogue tendre et percutant, où l’amour fraternel, avec ses maladresses et sa beauté brute, devient une célébration de la différence.

In a game of shifting perspectives –on themselves and each other– Luis and Jules Sagot celebrate their brotherhood. Their dialogue brings out their individual sensibilities and shared intelligence to transcend notions of disability and normality. 

Amidst concrete blocks–remnants of a structure, or the construction site of some future project–Luis and Jules Sagot butt heads, provoke each other, love each other. Jules, the biological son of the couple who adopted Luis from Mexico, wants to tell their story, talk about past pain. Luis, whose life has been chaotic and complex, wants a sunny performance with gentleness and humorous. Unlike his brother and his dramatic art, he de-dramatises. Renaming his ‘disability recognition’ as ‘helicopter recognition’, he flies away from the anxiety-inducing place that society offers him. How to tell the story of the other without betraying them? A tender yet hard-hitting dialogue in which brotherly love, in all its awkwardness and raw beauty, becomes a celebration of difference.

Jules Sagot creates theatre where intimacy is a terrain for exploration and play. His work questions the bonds that shape us, exploring how they can be revealed on stage. Striking a balance between sensitive writing and raw theatricality, he leaves room for the unexpected, for spontaneity and for delightful surprise.
