Winter Family s’appuie sur les voyages Taglit, les séjours en Israël offerts à la jeunesse juive mondiale au nom du Droit du Sang, pour montrer comment une histoire choisie fabrique une identité, une mémoire et un peuple prêt à mourir et à tuer pour défendre son récit.
Ruth Rosenthal, artiste israélienne, sera la guide Taglit pendant que la comédienne d’origine palestinienne Mayya Sanbar dira la réalité palesti-nienne dans les zones traversées, invisiblisée mécaniquement lors de ces séjours parfaitement chorégraphiés.

Winter Family draws on Taglit trips–journeys to Israel offered to young Jews from around the world on the basis of ancestry–to show how a chosen history constructs an identity, a memory, and a people prepared to die and kill in defense of that narrative.
Israeli artist Ruth Rosenthal serves as the Taglit guide, while actress of Palestinian origin Mayya Sanbar gives voice to the Palestinian reality in the areas traversed, a reality systematically rendered invisible during these meticulously choreographed journeys.

Formé par l’artiste israélienne Ruth Rosenthal et le musicien français Xavier Klaine, Winter Family se fait d’abord connaître avec ses disques, dès 2007 (South From Here au TNB en 2019), avant d’ouvrir sa pratique en travaillant avec des metteurs en scène, chorégraphes, cinéastes et plasticiens. Ensemble, elle et il créent des spectacles corrosifs sur Israël et la Palestine parmi lesquels Jérusalem plomb durci ou H2-Hebron (au Festival TNB 2018).
Formed by Israeli artist Ruth Rosenthal and French musician Xavier Klaine, Winter Family first gained recognition through their recordings, beginning in 2007 (South From Here, presented at the TNB in 2019), before expanding their practice through collaborations with theatre directors, choreographers, filmmakers, and visual artists. Together, they create incisive and provocative works about Israel and Palestine, including Jérusalem plomb durci and H2–Hebron (presented at the TNB Festival in 2018).
