Julien Mellano creates a futuristic vision of humanity. Trained as a plastic artist, he is a virtuoso of object-based theater with a taste for diversion, metamorphosis, and the absurd. With the Collective Aïe, Aïe, Aïe he brings to the stage Ersatz, a profoundly fantasized projection of tomorrow, fueled by transhumanist ideology, cybernetics, artificial intelligence, and other technological novelties.
Julien Mellano disrupts his wordless narrative with a face to face confrontation of the human and the object, inviting the audience to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds. The show combines the absurd and the miraculous, spiraling into a lack hole then collapsing into the vanishing point of our humanity, whether real, virtual, or augmented.
