Conceived by the Swedish artist Marcus Lindeen, this piece puts five performers centre stage. Equipped with earpieces, they tell the stories of maladaptive daydreamers – bearers of a poorly understood condition that is unrelated to either schizophrenia or hallucination. These maladaptive daydreamers immerse themselves so deeply in their interior fictions that real life may pass them by. Taking the form of a group therapy, the performance is based on testimonies collected by Lindeen.
Marcus Lindeen is a Swedish artist, writer, director and film-maker. His works have been shown at MoMA in New York, and his pieces have played at the Schaubühne in Berlin and the Nationaltheatret in Oslo.
