A documentary and personal investigation into the home of Ruth Rosenthal, Xavier Klaine, and their teenage daughter, where the banality of everyday patriarchy is at work.

For almost 2 years of their life and work together, Ruth Rosenthal discreetly and systematically made a note of the things her partner Xavier Klaine said which, in her eyes, were expressions of patriarchal systems. Through a filter of silent fury, she then made a selection of these to bring together the raw material for this show. Step by step, Rosenthal builds a poetic and non-binary approach to escaping the machinery of male domination and its everyday oppressions. Their daughter Saralei lends a hand with the effective weapons of her own generation.

Ruth Rosenthal and Xavier Klaine met in Jaffa in 2004 and founded the music and documentary theatre duo Winter Family. Together, they have created a number of biting pieces about Israel and Palestine, among them Jérusalem plomb durci and H2-Hebron (presented at Festival TNB 2018). In partnership with Festival Mythos, TNB also hosted their 2019 concert South From Here.
