Volmir Cordeiro appears in the guise of more bodies and faces than can be found in a busy street. Whether idly wandering by or in a state of panic, gently or fiercely, the Brazilian performer feels his characters as well as he communicates them. A
choreographic reply to Bertolt Brecht’s poems on war. Rue (Street) develops a dance of ideas and bodies, and fills the space with a thousand chimera. Washington Tampo’s music transcends the performance, augmenting it with his drum beats.
