PATRICIA ALLIO

WRITER

Attentive to minorities, Patricia Allio, is an author, director, performer and producer from Brittany, who moves at the pace of a critical thinking of the world. For her, art is a reflexive tool. During the 2021-2022 season at the the TNB and on tour in the Ile-et-Vilaine department, she is presenting Self-portrait to my grandmother, a family quest that goes beyond the intimate to question the limits of generational transmission. This work, which she wrote, directed and performs, is reminiscent of her first play Sx.rx.Rx, presented in 2004 at the TNB and then in Brussels at the KunstenFestivaldesarts, in which she already questioned the margins and identity constructions. She will also present her new creation Dispak Dispac'h during the TNB 2021 Festival.

For the cinema, she has directed Reconstitution d'une scène de chasse (Reconstitution of a hunting scene), notably presented at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR) in 2019, and is preparing Brûler pour briller (Burn to shine), a queer medieval fable linked to the village of Saint-Jean-du-Doigt, for 2022, where she leads the multidisciplinary meetings of ICE around "self-portraiture in" and sexual, political and linguistic minorities.
