CAROLINE GUIELA NGUYEN

DIRECTOR

From the very beginning of her career as a director, Caroline Guiela Nguyen has been noticed by the profession and acclaimed by the public. Following her studies at the École du Théâtre National de Strasbourg (2005), the former sociology student founded the company Les Hommes Approximatifs in 2009, with which she staged a number of classics before quickly tackling more personal stories, in which bodies usually absent from the theatre stage appear.

Not only does the artist impose communities of performers on the stage, but she also deals with subjects that rely on emotion, care and love. Exile, uprootedness, loneliness find their positive flip sides with her: solidarity, benevolence and brotherhood. A cathartic theatre, as proven by FRATERNITY, a fantastic tale, a futuristic play that she wrote by feeding on reality and which is presented at the TNB in bebruary 2022. In 2017, she also presented a flat theatre with Mon grand amour and SAIGON, a work that has toured internationally and won several awards. In 2018, she published with the TNB and Les Hommes Approximatifs the book SAIGON - à l'origine.
