ALBIN DE LA SIMONE

Anne and Maëva call these hotels ‘blanketers’, as opposed to more family or traditional hotels that we would like to prefer: the ones run by a not very friendly but genuine couple, without night watchman but with a door code, whose metal key rings weigh a ton, whose coffee is poured in big bowls made out of transparent yellow glass, the ones still using thick bed sheets (the one on top rolled around a yellowing bolster), a too short and stiff blanket and/or a heavy bedspread slipping outside the bed in less than a night, the ones with brown carpet with acarids on the walls, with dusty knick-knacks, port paintings, non-waterproof windows, thin walls and unluckily neighbours very much in love.

These hotels, even if we would like to like them, we do not. Thus we ask for ‘blanketers’ which all look alike and we enjoy getting them, so that at least this point is steady. And we avoid intentionally real nice non-standard hotels.
