What lessons will we learn in this monologue by Pierre-Yves Chapalain? Certainly, lessons of life, of the other, and of words themselves.
Silences are interposed there, moments to be filled or left to resonate. Enigmas that may or may not find their solution, leading us to the explicable or the invisible. When he stages his texts, Chapalain makes time for time itself. Time for the actors to find their characters, time for the public to enter visceral or intimate spaces, and time for what is prosaic to enter, gradually, into a dialogue with archaic forces that have returned from times past.
Pierre-Yves Chapalain is an artist, director and performer. Since 2008, he has written and directed his own texts from within the company Le temps qu’il faut, based in Bretagne’s Finistère region. These include Derrière tes paupières, which was presented at TNB in May 2021.
