The incarnation of spirits is at the heart of this medieval fable, conceived as a phantasmagorical plunge into the mystical history of the village of Saint-Jean-du-Doigt.
In 1420, the mysterious Yves deposits the relic of St John the Baptist’s finger in a remote village in the Celtic countryside. 600 years later, in the guise of Frannie, he returns to the site of the gift and, along the way, meets a shaman in touch with the spirits, a painter in search of light, and a storyteller who introduces him to the secrets of traditional songs. With this intimate appropriation of Bretagne, its landscapes, its legends and its figures, Patricia Allio reaffirms her taste for rituals that create the possibility of a dialogue between the visible and the invisible, transforming stories and realities.
BIOGRAPHY | An associate artist at TNB, Patricia Allio writes, directs, performs, and makes films. Her social and political work, driven by our lived realities and shared vulnerabilities, opens up unique spaces for interdisciplinary expression.
Between the 9th and 13th of April 2024 she will present Dispak Dispac’h, created during the TNB Festival 2021.
