MUSIC / FRANCE
Premiere in May 2019 with the Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne (OSB)
Tour season 2020/21

Ever since her first performances at the TNB in 2017, the folk singer and TNB associate artist, Keren Ann has repeatedly disrupted conventional formats in a bid to reinvent herself. Her previous TNB performances include a duo appearance with Albin de la Simone, joined by Yuksek for an improvised jam session at the Ubu during the 2017 TNB Festival, and a solo appearance, accompanied by musicians of the OSB performing as a string quartet. More recently she hosted the rapper Raashan Ahmad for a live performance of their shared love for poetry and song with texts by Maya Angelou and Hafez.

In May 2019 she returns to the TNB with the Symphony Orchestra of Brittany (OSB) with a performance of her compositions, enriched with the energy and range of a full symphony orchestra. The concert draws on her personal repertoire – 7 albums in the last 15 years – and pieces from her most recent album, Bleue (2019).

Keren Ann is an internationally renowned musician of tremendous eclectic talent. She writes for herself and others, including a number of celebrated artists, among which Henri Salvador, Emmanuelle Seigner, Avishai Cohen. She and the Icelandic musician Barði Jóhannsson have collaborated on an album and an opera (Red Waters by the duo Lady & Bird). She has written and produced albums with Henri Salvador and Sylvie Vartan among others. Her compositions have been performed by Anna Calvi, David Byrne, Iggy Pop, Jane Birken and Françoise Hardy.

The concert is available to tour either with the OSB or other symphony orchestras depending on the tour destination.
