Maison Mère/Mother house is the first of a cycle of three performances, the next two, scheduled for 2019, entitled Temple Père/Father Temple and La Rencontre Interdite/The Forbidden Meeting.
At the invitation of the 2017 Contemporary Art event “documenta 14” held in Germany and Greece, Phia Ménard provides her answer to the topic “Learning from Athens”: the erecting of her Parthenon, a metaphor for the never-ending reconstruction of Europe.
