Creation at Festival TNB (November 2021)
On tour seasons 2021/22 and 2022/23

Filming at home during lockdown at the request of Mohamed El Khatib, 20 performers from the 10th class of TNB Drama School shared details of their lives, and those of their parents, via the computer’s screen.

These ad hoc recordings became the starting point for this theatrical creation, brought to the stage by those same students who poured their hearts out online. Mes parents is a performance which explores the ways children look at their parents, cruelly or with tenderness, what they know about them and what they don’t. The investigation even broaches that great unknown: the sexuality of these adults – a blind spot which the director uncovers and draws into a political reflection on what generational exchange means today.

As always with Mohamed El Khatib, the whole is wrapped up on stage in a clever blurring of play and reality.
