Co-directed with Opéra de Rennes

The choreographer Alain Platel and the composer Fabrizio Cassol set themselves a very high bar: resurrect Mozart’s Requiem in D minor in a blend of lyric, jazz, and African music. Together Platel and Cassol celebrate the Ars moriendi — the Art of Dying— without which the Art of Living itself would not be conceivable.

ABOUT

The stage director and choreographer Alain Platel is the author of numerous works, which have propelled his dance company, les ballets C de la B, to international acclaim. His choral project, Coup de Chœurs, marked the beginning of his artistic collaboration with Fabrizio Cassol. In 2011 he presented Gardenia at the TNB and more recently, in 2016, Coup Fatal.
