For Nu, David Gauchard interviewed an array of life models, male and female.
He wanted to understand their motivations. Why take the work, and for what pay? How did they reconcile nudity with modesty? Their edited responses are transmitted into the earpieces of two actors who perform their words, whatever they may be, live and unfiltered, with a raw immediacy. The result is a fully realised world, both intimate and political, that transcends appearances.
The director David Gauchard founded Compagnie L’Unijambiste in 1999. This is his first appearance at TNB Festival.
