BEARING WITNESS

To bear witness is to speak out so the truth might come to light, whether that truth is ancient yet instructive for the modern world (Antigone à Molenbeek & Tirésias); whether it is polyphonous, diffracted, and taken up by bodies as much as voices (Y aller voir de plus près); whether it is rough, disturbing and a documentation of the real (Dispak Dispac’h); whether it is playful and childlike, with an affecting sincerity (Mes parents); or whether it is just there to restore balance and to give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar (Nu). These artists speak out loud and clear.
